Our Most Ambitious Structure Yet

Overview Jan 31, 2023 Case, News, Expro

AirClad X – pioneers of architecturally led, temporary event structures – saw their largest presence to date at the 56th Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas last week, with a 20m x 30m event structure for automotive supplier, Forvia.

The structure delivered several project firsts beyond just the scale, which is notably four times bigger than anything AirClad has previously built. CES, the world’s most influential tech event, features every aspect of the sector and where brands such as Google, Sony, Amazon and Microsoft give a glimpse into the future of electronics – from smart homes to virtual, through to healthcare, automotive and audio visual.

Staying true to a philosophy of 100% reusable systems, for CES, AirClad draws from existing stock across several countries, minimising the need for constructing new components, unwanted waste and always ensuring reuse. AirClad has recently formalised a relationship with Aero Marketing to manage the systems in the US, with the CES project the first in a new and ongoing relationship.
Next stop Daytona, Florida!
The speed at which AirClad can construct, due to the plug and play nature of the structures, allowed for early completion on a 20m x 30m structure which sat adjacent to global hard hitters such as Google in an area of the event where impact is everything.

Design and Deliver

The Forvia structure specifically utilises the EXPRO XIP system which comes with an internal mezzanine covering half the overall space, providing an office and double height atrium as guests arrive.
The structure is draped with huge graphics, seamlessly following the contours of the AirCells. The front and rear fascia were customised to further enhance the architectural quality AirClad brings to events, whilst integrated LED fascia screens and illuminated signs allow the structure to fully pop.
AirClad has worked closely with Hoynck in the Netherlands who developed and lead the overall creative, supported by Boom, also from the Netherlands, who developed and delivered a stunning interior fit out.

’By being involved in CES, AirClad can showcase to a whole new ordinance – the real possibility of event architecture, and how spaces can be elevated beyond comprehension. We expect to touch people with vision and open minds, and we trust they will see the possibilities we see, beyond events, for AirClad technology, in redefining how we work, live, and eat.’’
