Architecture

Nothing is fixed

AirClad Special Projects are self-initiated designs and developments where we push the boundaries of our technology to positively influence and explore new possibilities. We ask, “What if?” as we delve into other typologies and industries.

Partnering with professionals, educational institutions, and businesses, we thoroughly investigate these subjects, not only from a physical standpoint but with careful social consideration of all relevant parameters.

Pavilions

Bespoke one-off structures, designed to brief using AirClad technology.

Each Pavilion is a unique response to brief, crafted with premium materials and limitless creativity. From Harrods’ rooftop to the heart of Expo Sunderland, these striking structures are bold expressions of design, engineered for unforgettable events, brand moments and experiences. Made to perform. Designed to inspire.

Systems

Unique systems designed for specific sectors.

AirClad systems are sector-specific architectural solutions built on our versatile core technology. From medical spaces and work environments to airports, homes and beyond, each concept is developed to meet emerging needs with speed, precision and adaptability. These projects respond to real-world challenges and help shape the future of flexible living and working.

Uncoupling land and architecture

Over the past twenty-plus years, AirClad has embarked on a journey of discovery and creative influence in the world of premium events. The results of this journey are showcased throughout this website, where our spaces engage and inspire positive actions. Now, we feel compelled to take events beyond the traditional scope of architecture and to create architecture through the lens of events.

What if we could untether land from physical architecture, as is often done in events? To mobilize and modulate. To change and transform. To inspire and engage. The world is full of unused buildings, while we urgently need adaptable spaces to support and grow communities. Imagine if buildings located in unsuitable places could be moved or repurposed, or scaled up and down to suit demand. Imagine if these buildings were designed using high-performance materials that are environmentally sensitive, yet engineered to be durable, portable, and reusable.

There is much that the world of events can contribute to the future of architecture.

By simply uncoupling architecture from fixed locations, we can start to rethink how we approach building design. Modularity and reusability will be essential to adapting to the changes our environment presents. This shift offers an opportunity to use creativity and intellect to find solutions for navigating the present landscape and into the future.

How industry leaders are using our architecture.

  • In 2024, Harrods and architects Kendall Kingscott commissioned AirClad to create a unique fan-shaped pavilion on the rooftop of the iconic Knightsbridge store. A high-performance, modular pavilion that blends advanced engineering with premium materials; a space that reflects the prestige of Harrods while offering the flexibility to host a variety of curated experiences throughout the year.
